Here is a picture of some puppies that we have in camp. We have a total of 7 Alaskan Husky puppies and we train them daily. We usually will take the snow mobile out on the trails and they will follow it for a few hundred yards. This helps with getting the puppies ready for running on the trails.
This is Robbie; he is a 2 year old Alaskan Husky and is a great sled dog. To the right you will see all the black harnesses hanging up on the racks and the 2 sleds that are used to carry the tourists. This is the lot that I work in throughout the day; I am responsible for 27 dogs.
Here is a dog that I snapped a picture of at a place called Sheep Creek. This was the place I stayed at for the first 2 days in AK. We were helping with setup while we waited for the weather to clear to head up to the glacier. Sheep Creek is a small mining place that used sled dogs to haul heavy rock out of the tunnels in the 30's. All of the old buildings are still there and provide a very interesting historical tourist attraction.
This is us on the trail running the puppies. Notice the large cliffs behind us. :o) Every day avalanches come roaring down the side and cause quite a bit of noise. It looks exactly like a waterfall when it pours off the cliffs.
One of the many beautiful dogs in our camp!
